What is the Horton Plan?

The Horton Plan is a death benefit paid to your chosen beneficiary at the time of your death. It is only available to police members who are currently serving or members who are superannuated.

The VPD / PMBA / VPU benefit is paid within two weeks of your passing, completely separate from your pension.

When you were first sworn in, you would have nominated a beneficiary. It is important to update your beneficiary if your relationships change.
