Did you know that the Centre of Clinical Excellence – Veterans and First Responders Health is a facility dedicated to the health and wellness of First Responder and Veterans? Their clinicians are trained about and understand first responder issues. They offer an integrated continuum of health services, like medical and dental services for first responders AND for adult children of first responders, as well as clinical counselling, physiotherapy, massage therapy, sleep and fatigue clinics, and brain fog clinics.
Yesterday, Chris, TL and I, and seven other CISM and Peer Support coordinators from across the Lower Mainland, met at the building in Surrey, which is only a couple of blocks away from Gateway Skytrain Station.
CEO Lorne Friesen, took us on a tour of the new facility and said they are just getting their programs up and running, and just getting the word out about all the services. There is already a 50-person waitlist for the sleep clinic!
If you don’t have a family doctor or dentist this would be a great organization to contact. I have already sent the information to my adult son who immediately registered to be on the waitlist for the sleep clinic!
